Today we would like you to meet Laura Johnson who plays Pig #1 of our piggy trio! Laura says she is thrilled to be in the cast of Shrek with PCP after seeing our production of Clue and being very impressed. Although this is her first time performing with us, she is no stranger to the stage. She has a B.A. in theater from GVSU, and alongside this production is also in Frog and Toad the Musical at Riverwalk Theater in Lansing. This marks her 20th community theater production. By day she works for Blue Cross Blue Shield and by night can be found at the gym, singing or dancing. She would like to say thank you to her friends and family for their continued love and support. Welcome to the PCP family!
Meet Laura! Laura is playing the role of a Pick a Little Lady in our production of The Music Man. This is her second production with Evolve Theatrics having appeared previously as Bet in Oliver. Laura has also been seen on the stages of many other local community theater groups. In her free time, she may be found taking dance classes or cuddling with her cat, Tiger Lilly! Laura is a welcome addition to any cast. She brings enthusiasm and a smile that lights up the room. Get your tickets to see Laura at: www.evolvetheatrics.com

OLIVER @ The Hannah Community Center in East Lansing Bet and Oliver March 2017
"Laura is playing the roles of Bet, the Milk Maid, and is a member of the Adult Ensemble. This is Laura’s first production with the Blue Light Players. She has appeared in other community theater productions and sings with a local community choir. By day, Laura works in the banking industry and by night, she is an actress. We believe our audience will find Laura’s onstage antics to be youthful and entertaining"

SHREK THE MUSICAL: Owosso Community Players
SHREK premiered Friday May 9th, 2014 at the 550 seat Shiawasee Performing Arts Center. Pictured here are the three actresses playing Fiona. From left Rachel Dahl (young Fiona), Kayla Green (Fiona), and Laura Johnson (Teen Fiona).

The following review about the production, was by Jane Zussman:
"It was sensational - the venue, the performances, set, lighting, costumes, makeup, choreography, special effects...and a 17 piece orchestra in the pit — a knockout opening to the newly renovated Lebowsky Center. It seemed like a professional Wharton Center touring company. Hat's off to all who worked on this monumental project."

Happy Jack - Riverwalk Theater's Jack & The Beanstalk review by Joe Torok, City Pulse - December 3, 2008.
"Riverwalk Jack & The Beanstalk is better than a year’s worth of afternoon cartoons" Laura Johnson plays Jack the daydreamer well with requisite wide-eyed wonderment. Children really start leaning in when the beanstalk, wrapped with green Christmas lights, lifts to the ceiling, and Jack meets all the interesting characters in the sky.
Jack's call and response (My own little Echo and me) with the audience and a madcap chase that brings even the giant shuffling through rows of giggling children are the highlights of the performance.

Jane Zussman, Riverwalk Theater - Review August 2010
"The Fairies (Susie Coleman, Ashley Ault, and Laura Johnson) brought some humor, and a dash of scary (Rachel Mender.) The music set an ethereal magical mood that seemed like fairy flutes. Sleeping Beauty is a truly beautiful show; Don't miss this one!"
